Sykkel Saga is pamphlet-long poem published by Mariscat Press, July 2019, about a bicycle trip through the Arctic Circle in Northern Norway. It is a journey through landscape, Norse mythology and the Norwegian language, exploring what draws us to a place, of distance and proximity in time and space, and of connections. Copies can be bought by sending a cheque for £6 to Mariscat Press, or from Lighthouse Books in Edinburgh or Tell It Slant, Glasgow.
‘This impressive first collection draws in everything and everywhere and finds the title’s shimmer wherever it settles. She writes politically without anger, personally without compassion; she encounters the infinite with wit and the bizarreries of everyday with humour. She concludes with a ‘theory of everything’ that is almost believable.‘
You can read poems from the book in Glasgow Review of Books, or listen to a Scottish Poetry Library Podcast interview with myself here which includes the science and inspiration behind my poetry and readings of a few poems.
